LPN Unit Manager

Location: Ann Arbor - 4701 E. Huron River Drive, Ann Arbor, MI, 48105

Job Summary:

The LPN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a nursing unit within a healthcare facility. They supervise and manage a team of licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants to ensure that patients receive high-quality care. The LPN Unit Manager also collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans, monitor patient progress, and ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of LPNs and nursing assistants
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met
  • Provide direct patient care as needed
  • Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating staff
  • Manage unit budget and resources
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN license in the state of Michigan
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an LPN
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and healthcare policies and procedures

Physical Demands:

The LPN Unit Manager may be required to stand, walk, sit, lift, and bend for extended periods of time. They may also be required to lift or move patients or equipment.

Work Environment:

The LPN Unit Manager works in a healthcare facility and may be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and unpleasant odors. They may also be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
